Contribution Filing Initialization

Interact SSAS allows for Contribution Returns to be for Past Periods as well as for Future Periods.  Depending on the process followed within the Social Security Administration, the system will need to “Activate” or “Initialize” the correct Contribution Returns for any particular Filing Period which is being processed so that those which should be included are included and others can be excluded by the system.

The Initialization step ensures that the right Contribution Filings will be included in this specific Filing Process.

  • Initialize the Contribution Return Filing.
  • This process is used to ‘Initialize’ all current Contribution Return Filings for Employers, Self-Employed and Voluntary Contributors so they can be processed
  • The Initialization also allows the user to pick up Prior Period Return Filings which had not been processed yet
  • It can be generated as many times as the user may require for the open Contribution Period.

Initializing Contribution Filling Period

It is used to Start the Filing Process for All Contribution Filing forms, including the Self-Employed and Voluntary Contributors’ Contribution Filings received through E-Services or those which are created by an Internal User based on a paper filing. The system can process Previous period filings in the current Open Period.

User can Select All Employee Groups to be Initialized once or choose to run this process for a Specific Employee Group only.
