Interact SSAS allows Employers to file their Contribution Returns through their e-Services with minimal effort. The process is exception based whereby the user only needs to edit information in case of changes compared to the previous period.
The application will automatically select the correct Filing Period for which the Employer has not yet filed any Salary and Contribution information. It will list all the Employees who are on record as being employed during this Filing Period.
It will also automatically display the correct Employee Social Security Number, Classification, applicable Employee Contribution Rate and Employer Contribution Rate and the Salary on Record. Finally, it will calculate the resulting Contribution Amounts for both Employee and Employer.
The Employer also has the option to indicate how much was paid to an Employee who may have been on Sick or other type of Medical Leave for which the Employee may be claiming Benefits. The Employer can insert the amount paid during this period and indicate the exact Period of Incapacity.
Everything is automated, minimizing the risk of mistakes by the employer and making the process highly efficient.

Overview
Employer Filing through e-Services
Employers can file their Contribution Returns through e-Services, after which the Social Security Administration can start processing quickly without having to do any data-entry or import.

The Contribution Return contains all relevant information and minimizes the need for the Employer to do any manual data entry.
All employees are automatically listed with their SSN, Name, Job Title, Classification, Applicable Contribution Rate, Salary (Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly), and resulting Contribution Amount for the Filing Period.
The employer can indicate if the Employee was paid any amount during a Period of Incapacity by indicating the amount and providing the details about the Start and End Date of the Period of Incapacity.
The system automatically calculates any Penalties for Late Filing at the time of Filing.

If any Employers are still bringing paper-based Contribution Returns to the Social Security Administration offices, these can still be entered manually by a user within the Social Security Administration. Alternatively they can also be imported from other sources if necessary.
SSA Internal user can select Employer from Employer EIN or Employer Name Picker and then Employer’s data will be displayed as well as his Employees Details (which will appear in Next Tab “Employer Calculation Return Details”) and their saved Wages.
Employees’ wages are saved into the system and Contribution Percentages are defined in the Setup so that the System will automatically calculate every Employee’s Contribution amount based on predefined “Employee Group” setup and Contribution or Tax Return Calendar Setup so that the Contribution Calculation is done easily through the system.
